Privacy Policy

How Urge collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated: August 27, 2025

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Urge (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with our iOS app and related pages (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

What We Collect

On-device app data

  • Skipped purchases & goals: Entries you create (titles, amounts, categories, and goal/jar info) are stored locally on your device.
  • No account: Urge does not require login and does not sync your data to our servers.

Information you provide to us directly

  • Support messages: If you email us, we receive your message and email address to respond.

Information collected automatically

  • In-app purchases (Apple): Payments are processed by Apple via StoreKit and may involve Apple-managed identifiers and receipts. We do not receive your full payment details.
  • Crash/diagnostics (Apple): If you opt in to share analytics/crash reports with developers in iOS settings, Apple may provide us anonymized diagnostics to improve stability.

Notifications & local storage

Urge may schedule local notifications on your device if you enable reminders. We may use local storage to remember your settings. We do not use third-party ad tracking.

How We Use Information

  • Provide core features like logging skipped purchases, charts, and calendar views.
  • Maintain purchases/entitlements (e.g., Urge Pro) using Apple’s StoreKit.
  • Improve app reliability and user experience (e.g., via anonymized diagnostics if you’ve opted in with Apple).
  • Respond to support requests you send us.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with:

  • Apple: For purchases (StoreKit), analytics/crash diagnostics if you opted in at the OS level, and notification delivery.
  • Legal reasons: If required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the Service.

Data Retention

Your app data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. Any diagnostics we receive from Apple are retained only as necessary to improve the app.

Security

Urge is designed to keep your budgeting data local to your device. While no system is 100% secure, we aim to minimize data collection and use platform-provided protections.

Your Choices & Rights

  • On-device control: Edit or delete your entries and goals within the app. Deleting the app removes local data stored by Urge.
  • Purchases: You can restore in-app purchases via the app’s “Restore Purchases.”
  • Notifications: You can enable/disable reminders in iOS Settings → Notifications or in the app’s Settings.
  • Diagnostics: You can change Apple analytics/crash-reporting preferences in iOS Settings.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA. Contact us and we’ll assist where applicable.

Children

Urge is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Urge after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
